This Manual was published in
1994. It was created by the Louisiana Crisis Assistance Center and the
Loyola Death Penalty Resource Center through grants from The Southern Poverty
Law Center and the Louisiana Bar Association IOLTA Fund.
Some of the cases cited in the
manual have been affected by later decisions. This manual cannot hope to
address all the issues that may arise or substitute for competent legal
research. It is designed to be a guide to assist the trial lawyer
appointed to represent men, women and children who face the death penalty.
